Protoss Strategy based on Blizzcon build (what i used)
- 1 "Laser Fest"- Quick tech/expand with about 4 phase cannons in base for manuverable protection. When able, make 3 Stargates and 2 robotics facilities + required tech building for observers and colossi. Make Warp Rays and Colossi at about a 5:2 warp ray/colossus ratio, and get the +100 shield upgrade for the colossus at about 5-6 colossi. Upgrades on the weaponry of warp rays and the armor of colossi is a must. This duo is very gas hungry, especially with the upgrades to make them extremely deadly, so you'll probably find yourself having more minerals to spare. I'd recommend using these one warp-in zealots which serve as excellent meat shields and overall pests for their cost. Stay in your abse until either an ally is in trouble or you have 12+ war rays and 4+ collosi. You will find that almost anything this force meets will fall. ANYTHING (motherships lasted about 3-4 seconds). continue building the warp rays and colossi at the 5:2/4:2 ratio. I'd recommend taking out expansions and covering them with 1/2 zealots before attacking the main base. This strategy is highly effective against all current units of both terran and protoss and is susceptible only to continual early harassment or a full out rush, neither of which have stopped me at Blizzcon. Once your force is set, it's almsot currently impossible to kill, and warp rays are better anti-air than phoenixes at the moment. I'd target Pylons/Supply depots in their main base, they're easy targets with both long range laser units, and don't stand for more than 2-3 seconds per building.
- 2 "Zealot Rush"- same take on an old strategy. It was particularly easy at Blizzcon because there were only 4 starting spots and 4 players (and everyone wanted to make a mothership, something i never did). I immediatly set out my 8th probe to the opening of an enemies base (out of sight) and built 2 pylons. Made some more probes. Then Built 3 Gateways. I had 1 zealot by the 3rd gateway, and contineud pumping them (with the needed pylons for psi). I rushed at 6 zealots because the person finally looked out with an SCV, and i encountered only 5 marines. I easily demolished the base and he lifted to goto his allies base. we (my ally and me) finished the game in under 20 minutes (the alotted time per game at Blizzcon).
