Hit Point

All units and buildings in StarCraft and StarCraft II have "Hit Points", which are a numerical measurement of how damaged the unit is. As long as the number is greater than zero, the unit/building lives/stands and works at full capacity. Terran buildings will lose hit points from fire if the building is damaged and not repaired. Lost hit points on units can be healed, repaired or regenerated, depending on the unit. If a Protoss unit or building loses its Plasma Shields and subsequently its hit points, those will never be restored, unless healed by a Terran ally.
