Brood

A Zerg Brood is a large subsection of Zerg creatures, usually lead by a Cerebrate, or other powerful thinking Zerg creature. A Zerg Brood should not be mixed up with a Zerg breed.
Overlords have been known to lead smaller Broods, as has a Guardian, and Kerrigan is able to control the entirety of her Swarm. In some cases these broods have specially developed gene strains in order to specialize in certain tasks such as "gathering materials", "scouting", "assaulting".
